Community First Development Fund of Saskatoon

This site is a showcase of Community First's community development projects presented as a "gallery of success" and is designed to support fund-raising.

To create the site content, John Yates conducted interviews and photo sessions with each of the program participants. The site was built with Drupal CMS and allows Community First staff to easily manage its content.

This site was created to support the Station 20 West Capital Campaign, which aims to raise $6M by May 2010.

John Yates compiled research from various sources to develop the web-friendly writing that helps bring in donations from the community. He coded the site in HTML/CSS.

Saskatchewan's Green Directory

The Green Directory is designed to provide information to Saskatchewan consumers about the environmental impacts of what we buy.

Raw material for the site included a vast quantity of data supplied as spreadsheets. John Yates leveraged the power of Drupal CMS to transform that data into useful information and present it in a clear and easy to navigate format that is easily kept up to date by non-technical staff.

Beyond Factory Farming

This bilingual site's redesign involved the reorganization of over 300 pages of static content into the Drupal CMS framework. John Yates converted the supplied visual design into a Drupal template and oversaw the migration of existing content as well as creating the templates for new content. Staff training was accomplished using screencasts.

The site is managed by BFF staff and receives around 1800 visitors per month.

Inter-Church Uranium Committee Educational Co-operative (ICUCEC)

A simple site created for a citizens' group opposed to nuclear development in Saskatchewan. The information and articles on the site are contributed by the group's members and a system of categorization was needed to keep track of the content.

John Yates set up a taxonomy navigation system within a Drupal CMS framework and taught the group's members how to add and organize content.
